Ann Arbor Railroad to Cooperate in Fire Prevention
Charles Peterson of the State Conservation Department examined Clare county fires along the Ann Arbor railroad right of way near Lake George. He said the railroad promptly agreed to cooperate to prevent further fires and orders were issued for section men to patrol after trains during dry weather. Investigators credit poor coal grade, not locomotive spark devices, as the likely cause. Peterson praised local wardens and key men for their work this year.
