City considers library mill levy extension amid funding squeeze

At a Monday City Commission meeting, officials discussed renewing a five year library millage of 15 mills set to expire. Library board member Mrs. Pinaire cited reduced income from penal fines due to a new district court system and warned the library faces tighter finances without renewed funding. State Senator Robert Huber told 250 people at a July 5 Voice of the People Tax Reform meeting that the future government depends on the taxpayer. Lee Swallow presided as acting chairman of Clare County VOP, reporting 450 members and a formed constitution and by laws. Huber titled his talk Invasion of the Rights of the People, blaming elected and appointed officials for the invasion.

Clare Commissioners Discuss Housing Code And Lake Issue

Clare city leaders reviewed the public housing project and the need for a City building code to secure federal funds. County Board Tables Nuisance Ordinance

Clare County Board of Supervisors and Clare City Commission discuss adopting a county nuisance abatement ordinance.
