Clare County considers buying three sheriff cars
Clare County Board of Commissioners may decide July 20 whether to buy or lease three new service cars for the sheriff department. Sheriff Raymond O. Lippold Jr. says two aging cars are worn out and break down, leaving one car to patrol 700 square miles and handle emergencies. A special study by the sheriff committee will determine transportation needs while two dealers advocate leasing to reduce maintenance and upfront costs.
