Mr and Mrs Dennis Fitzpatrick celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their Sheridan township home Tuesday June 80th A high mass was led by Fr James Fitzpatrick with several clergy assistants A noon reception for over two hundred followed by a banquet and music by Lawrence Picken orchestra A public evening reception saw about one hundred friends extend best wishes The couple have lived in Sheridan township for twenty years After moving from Hubbardston they received many gifts including a gold purse from St Cecilia parish members and a $50 gold offering from family

Boys Break Camp at Windover Lake
The boys return home from Camp Windover reporting a wonderful time. Tent inspection and a base pall tournament were won by Wallace Johnson’s group. In track, classes followed weight. in Class A Donald Artibee led 100 yard dash and broad jump with Albert Leis high jump. Class B saw Clifford Parker win 75 yard dash, Robert Caple running high jump, Rexford Allen standing broad jump. Class C saw Donald McKinnon 50 yard dash, Percy Louch running high jump, Thomas Horton standing broad. Swimming was close with Donald Jones first, Robert Caple second, Gerald Nivison third. leaders race across Grass Lake won by Max Koch in 23.4 minutes with Reardon Caple second. The campers hope to expand next year for more boys under supervision and training.

The state noxious weeds law now harsher: landowners must cut weeds by July 16 or face a $10 fine plus cutting costs. Bluegill violations at Cranberry lake lead to fines for Orin Brown and William Horning both of Midland. Each paid 10.00 fine and 6.25 costs for taking immature bluegills. Homer Murphy and C H Pettit Conservation Officers made the arrests. A J Randall of Lansing paid 21.50 for catching forty five bluegills, exceeding the 25 per limit. Deputy State Game Warden Pettit made the catch. Clare county lakes are noted as inviting, but Pettit warns against violations.

Rural Fire Truck Makes Useless Run
