Farwell School Board hires Kenneth Richardson Middle School Principal
The Farwell Area Schools Board of Education names Kenneth Richardson as Middle School Principal after decades as an English and speech instructor and longtime Assistant High School Principal. The board set 1976 77 salaries for principals and hired several staff including an new Assistant High School Principal. A special election for a district operating millage was tentatively scheduled for March 28 1977.

Sheriff Aleck Recovers After Clare County Crash
Clare County Sheriff Gus Aleck is recovering from injuries after a patrol car crash on January 15 near Magnus Tractor Sales. The 38 year old suffered head injuries and facial fractures with two fractured collar bones but reports excellent progress and hopes to leave Midland Hospital soon. Deputy Richard Miller, 21, rode with Aleck and has returned to duty after hospitalization.
