Michigan farmers can start 1941 with certified seed potatoes at prices well below last year due to a larger seed crop. H C Mugra notes quality is high with minimal scab and frost damage, and certified seed yields about 50 bushels per acre more than common stocks. Varieties include Russet Rural, Irish Cobbler, Katahdin, Green Mountain, Chippewa, Pontiac, with White Rural Bliss Triumph and Russell Burbank in limited supply. A strong spraying program is advised amid blight history.
