Herman Herrick Leichti and Tom Acker report employment in Lansing and Mrs Acker man with three children wintering with Mrs Leichti. A sleigh party to Clare for church. Marian and Norman Maxwell out of school due to sickness. Ralph Maxwell improving. Local visits by H T Badgley and Judge Ray Aart. Lilian Badgley home from Clare for sickness. Miller assisting Clare pastor preached in Herrick. Sunday school and church attendance strong.
Elm Grove residents mention a farm rental by Mr and Mrs Jerry Bennett Jr from Mrs Harvey. Dell Pendell returns from Detroit while Eli Smith comes home from Lansing with Glen Hale and Ora Hale. Obas Sanders suffers a knee injury from grinding feed and is confined to bed ten days. Catherine Butters recovers from a cold and attends school. Bad roads keep Sunday School attendance down and there was no preaching. A large Aid gathering occurred at Bessie Bradley’s home with another planned at Mrs Jessie Tryon’s.
Brand Frank Acre Jr and Thurman Robinet haul hay for Wm Caple to Kleman ranch. Local sickness and visits fill the week with many neighbors Fri day and Sunday gatherings. A sleigh ride invitation and Cox style chatter mix with cough remedy ads and farm life notes.
