Plans Begun for Good Friday Interdenominational Service
Clare Ministerial Association met at the Methodist parsonage on January 7 to plan a Good Friday interdenominational service. Rev. Brinkman to preach 1 30 to 2 45 p.m. at the Methodist sanctuary. The group voted to contribute 100 to Church World Service for powdered milk for overseas needy, bringing local charity to 200 with prior Christmas Eve gifts. Further contributions welcome as plans expand church leadership fellowship in Clare.

Sewer Funds May Be Collected As Fees In Future

The Dramatic Class of Clare High School will present a one act play Ladies Of The Mop after the Clare Parent Teacher Association meeting Monday January 18 at eight o clock. Rita Beck is student director with four scrub women Mattie Annie Sally Hallie Bessie as characters and music from the grades directed by Miss Nancy Keller. The program takes place in the school auditorium with no admission and all are invited. A prize is offered for the school room with the highest parent attendance percentage.

Area Scouts Take Part in Polar Bear Camporee
Ten Farwell and Lake George Scouts joined 178 Valley Trails Council explorers at Camp Rotary for the Winter Camporee on January 9 and 10. Troop 115 and Troop 129 provided Polar Bear Award qualifiers, with 80 of 178 completing the demanding 24 hour out door test in near zero weather.

About twenty graduates of a Human Relations course were honored by their employers at an achievement dinner Monday evening January 4 in the Wedgewood Room of the Hotel Doherty. Sponsored by Citizens State Bank Rosebush State Bank and Gladwin County Bank at Beaverton the course taught meeting the public and presenting friendly points of personality in business. Pfister of CMC in Mr Pleasan led the instruction and noted that those who attend typically need the instruction least yet gain value in serving others. Certificates were awarded to members of the staffs of the three banks who completed the course.

Enrollment for adult evening education will occur Tuesday 6 30 to 8 00 PM in the public school multi purpose room with phone enrollments accepted. Lakeside Tavern at Fife Lake owned by Mrs McCon and Irwin Church burned down early Tuesday January 6 with a complete loss. Investigators suspect defective wiring caused the fire. Partners plan to rebuild and hope a new building is ready by April 1.
