Hunters lag in turning in game report cards
Michigan hunters are slow to return hunting report cards. The conservation department reports only about 35 000 licenses report stubs so far, including 27 000 by deer riflemen and 6 000 by small game hunters. Deadline February 15. Last year the totals were higher. Regulation requires all stubs be returned regardless of success.

Hunting season is closed in Michigan's southern third and hundreds of hunters checked the station this autumn with no bagged rabbit reports.
