Farmers of Clare Rise as Mainstay of Community Heritage
The Clare community’s history centers on soil and farms, from pine and cedar timber to grain, cattle and sheep ranching, and a growing tourism and oil industry. Farmers have served as public officials and civic leaders, feeding war-torn Europe and defending democracy, while remaining neighbors, fathers, and sons. The Clare Sentinèle dedicates this issue to the farming community’s enduring ideal and service.
