Clare Pioneers Suffer Back-to-Back Losses to Gladwin and Harrison
Clare fell to Gladwin 66 54 after leading early and allowing a flurry of Flying G presses. Top scorers Brad Davis 11 Tom Wyman 9 Kelly Luplow 16 and Dave Ward 23 fueled Gladwin’s counterpunch as Clare faded. In the Harrison game Clare were outpaced 87 57 as the Hornets opened a 7 1 deficit and pulled away behind Dan Ashcraft and Kevin Ried key scoring. Harrison outscored Clare 31 24 from the floor and dominated both ends.

Clare opens season at Central Michigan Finch Fieldhouse
Clare High School indoor track opened its season at Central Michigan University Finch Fieldhouse on Monday. Bill Gillis placed third in the 60 yard dash with 6.35 seconds, Bill Sheppley was fifth in the long jump at 20 feet 2.5 inches, and Clare competed in the mile relay plus a two mile relay heat with Gillis Teali Border Butch Murphy Pudway Waddington siblings.
