Clare School Adds Wings to Meet Growth Needs in 1949
A 24 member Building Committee advised Clare Board of Education on proposed east and west wing additions to the school. The west wing would host kindergarten, six classrooms, library, restrooms, kitchen and cafeteria, expanding serving capacity. The east wing would include a shop, tools, classroom, band and agricultural rooms to support expanded industrial arts. Growth shows a 55 percent rise in enrollment over 15 years as plans allocate K through third on the west wing and later elementary, junior high on the first floor, with high school on the second. The plan aligns with St. Cecilia integration and anticipates near future needs, though details continue on page twelve.
