Bowling ball stops robbery at Clare Bowling Alley
Joseph Manley of Farwell used a bowling ball to defend himself when two men demanded money outside the Clare Bowling Alley around 93 p.m. Feb. 8. One assailant was struck and knocked down, the other fled. Police later linked the incident to a car theft in Farwell as possibly related.

Farwell Area Schools Board Meets For Millage Plans
The Farwell Area Schools Board of Education met February 14 in the High School Cafeteria. They approved bills totaling 75,105.67, authorized boiler replacement costs under 2500, and asked Wakely Associates to review roof leaks. They considered a union election for 50 percent of transportation and staff employees and hired Jack Winters as district attorney. A second special meeting February 21 at 7 30 p.m. will set millage for the March 28 election. Budget projections for 1977 78 are available at the administration office.
