Miss Luddington and Miss Murr announce a health education program in Clare and Osceola counties with community centers in Harrison Farwell Lake Clare Marion Reed City and Ewart. The effort targets women and girls 12 and older to form Little Mother Leagues at schools and learn infant care, bathing and clothing making. The program is free. The death rate for children under one in Clare county is 122 per thousand, compared with 79 in Michigan and 71 in New York City.

Rosebush Couple In Serious Condition After Gas Incident
Report from Clare says Mr and Mrs W S Sleight of Rosebush were found asleep in a gas asphyxiation incident. A nearby resident collapsed after noticing a strange odor and three men fell ill. The Sleights and a third sleeper were revived by medical staff and are recovering. Mrs Sleight works for Michigan Bell Telephone Co as an operator.
