Hiram Dell born September 16 1880 near Gooderham Ontario died December 23 1951 at his Sears home aged 71. He came to Michigan aged seven, worked in lumber camps, farmed, married Nora Strait in 1907 and left two daughters and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Coker Funeral Home Farwell with Rev Mary House officiating.

Mt Pleasant Man Held After Accidental Death
Jason Collins, 64, of Rosebush was killed Christmas Eve when struck by a car driven by Ted Strong, 21, of Mt. Pleasant on a county road east of Rosebush. Strong said Collins lay in the road and he could not stop at about 40 mph. Strong and two passengers were questioned. he was held in Isabella county jail pending investigation.

Michigan State College established the nations first professorship in driver education naming Leslie Silvernale to fill the post. The school received 10000 from the Inter Industry Highway Safety Committee to fund a broad program for high school students and adults including courses in hometowns and workshops on the East Lansing campus. The aim is to reduce highway deaths and property damage while expanding teacher training and adult education.

Terry Davis, 46, of 204 S McHwan St, arrested by State Police on a drunken driving charge on December 20, pled guilty in Mt Pleasant Municipal Court. Judge EK Ryan offered a $54.30 fine or 30 days in jail. Gaston Chagnon of Saginaw, cited Oct 28 and ordered to appear Oct 31, failed to show and, after a bench warrant, pled guilty at arraignment. James Akin Passes Sudden Death in Bronson Michigan
James Akin longtime Clare resident moved to Bronson last spring and died suddenly at 6 40 p m Thursday November 29 from a heart attack at his son s home. He is survived by two sons Hue ber in Bronson and Bennie serving in the armed forces, a brother in Terre Haute Indiana, and a sister in Arizona. He was buried in Hast Gilead Cemetery at Bronson.
