William M. Morgan the Brooklyn Red Cross Chapter’s oldest Gray Lady has served 32 years beginning in 1917 at Brooklyn Naval Hospital. He worked there through World War II and until 1948, then moved to the MS clinic at the VA Regional Office in Manhattan.

Girl Scout Council Holds December Meeting at Church
The Girl Scout Council met Monday evening December 12 at the Methodist Church social parlors with a pot luck supper at 6 30. Mrs Coulson’s troop received guests, Mrs Bergey’s troop performed grace, and Rev L J Nevins spoke. Leaders were named for several troops and a January meeting was canceled. The program themed Santa’s Toyland featured baton twirling, dancing dolls, and Christmas carols.

The Zenobia Chapter C E S held its annual Christmas party Thursday evening December 15 with a six o'clock supper. Mrs Eva Schlafley Mrs Dorothy Spencer and Mrs Ruth Johnson chaired the program featuring recitations by Clay Ardath Hardman Janica Spencer Diana Bryant and Jayne Sands. Jay Lehr sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and children sang carols. Grace McArthur and Belle Mair performed Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night. Santa Claus gave out gifts and an offering was taken for the Grand Chapter Christmas Happiness Fund.

Rainy weather kept thirty two members at the Clara Rebekah Lodge meeting Tuesday evening. Mrs. Dorothy Shepherd presided as noble grand. The installation date for new officers was changed with a definite date to be announced. Mrs. Carrie Green, the incoming noble grand, qualified satisfactorily. A donation to the school milk fund was voted. Announcement of a special meeting next Tuesday urged all members to attend the last meeting in 149.
