Twister Wrecks Mobile Home Near Clare
A mobile home south of Clare was heavily damaged by what may have been a tornado last Thursday. The home toppled from its concrete base, crushing the porch and denting a nearby storage shed. No occupants were inside. Local residents reported a loud wind and a blown corn swath as the twister path. State Police called it a wind storm. neighbors described a powerful twister.

B&E Suspect Extradited Here From Washington
Randy Cowell 18 of Clare was extradited from Bellingham Washington for two April break ins at Thayer Dairy Inc on April 6 and 14. He was escorted by Clare Sheriff Raymond Lippold and Sgt. Mike Becker after apprehension at the Canadian border. Arraigned in Harrison District Court, he remains jailed in leu with $1000 bond as a trial date is set.
