Mr and Mrs Fred Horn took Vern Farnell and Cynthia to Manistee for an Exchange Students meeting at the Methodist Church. Groups of six discussed travel details including clothing and souvenirs. A May 19 pot luck picnic is planned amid a count of 400 U S students heading to Europe this summer in 3350 homes.
The Farwell community hosts a Pink and Blue Shower for Mrs. Donald Brown at Mrs. Maur ice Rhoads home and reads of a Radio Jamboree by the Farwell Junior Chamber on April 27 to aid a park. Memorial Day will feature two Grand Ole Opry shows at Farwell School Gym. Various local families attend dinners, visits, and church events across Clare, Beaverton, Livonia, and Flint as residents travel for World War I and missionary meetings.

Revival meetings April 28 to May 5 led by Rev Max Heller at Loomis Missionary Church nightly 7 30 except Saturday. RLDS and Grace Bible also hold events and services. Spiritual Gifts talk April 24 at 7 30 pm. Sanitation and nursing day noted for April 28. Week includes Sun School of Nursing Day and special SanService at 7 30 pm with Power of Healing theme. Methodist M Y F P roller skating Thursday evening at 7.00.
The Farwell 4-H Bronco Busters gathered last Tuesday night at the Charles Haag home. They marked Jim’s 12th birthday and discussed upcoming spring activities for their horses. A clover cake with six white horses drawing the Old Lady in a Shoe, plus ice cream and jello, delighted the members.
