Downtown Clare to get new gas mains upgrade
Michigan Consolidated Gas Company begins replacing 2000 feet of bare four inch mains in Clare with plastic coated steel 2 and 3 inch pipes along McEwan Street and First to Fifth Streets and surrounding blocks. The 30 to 45 day project will keep service to about 40 businesses with only brief outages during transfers. Contractor is A I Construction of Harrison with city and state officials coordinating.
