CIO Council Backs 15 Bond Issues and 1.4 Mill School Levy

The CIO Council endorsed all 15 bond issues and the 1.4 mill school levy to be voted on this year. William Reeder of the AFL Firefighters Union explained the bonds, claiming they would bring over 33 million dollars in Cincinnati improvements with no tax increase. Planned projects include the Millcreek Expressway, University of Cincinnati building expansions, a new incinerator, a General Hospital receiving ward, park and playground upgrades, a new fire station and police facility, health centers citywide, more school construction, a master airport, and a new Public site.

Steelworkers Endorse Truman for President

The United Steelworkers union has voted formal support for President Truman's candidacy. Philip Murray announced the backing on behalf of the international executive board, reaffirming the Truman Barkley endorsement after the CIO national board previously supported him.
