Clothing Workers Reelect Kroll Hartmann and Staff in Record Vote
Cincinnati ACW members overwhelmingly reelected their Joint Board officers and many locals in the largest election yet. Voters favored Kroll 3080 to 138, Hartmann 3005 to 109, and secretary treasurer Schroeder 2841 to 84 with 85 percent turnout tracking ballots cast. Local 189, 113, 164, 135, 304, 155, 175, 189 and others reelected officers and named Joint Board and Executive Board delegates for upcoming conventions and CIO council duties.

Increased ACW Welfare Aid Boosts Benefits for Clothing Workers
The Amalgamated Cloth workers fund expands sick and accident benefits and hospital coverage for 150000 workers, adds up to 150 toward surgical operations, raises hospitalization and other benefits, and keeps $500 death and dollar-for-dollar old age retirement with a 5 percent employer contribution. The changes take effect April 1 and reflect agreement between unions and the Clothing Manufacturers Association.

Meister Company Signs New Contract For Local 135 Members
The Amalgamated Clothing Workers signed a new contract with Meister Co. pants makers granting standard conditions and benefits for Local 135 members. Effective April 1, negotiations led by the Joint Board chair and Joseph Sepate. The Meister unit will hold a shop officers election soon, Sepate announced.
