Ohio CIO AFL endorses Gilligan for Senate race

The Ohio CIO AFL–CIO endorsed Jack Gilligan for the U.S. Senate, arguing Frank Lausche is out of touch after 30 years on the public payroll. Gilligan accused Lausche of betraying working people and favoring industrialists while Gilligan touted pro education voting. UAW officials highlighted Lausche’s missed votes and Gilligan’s support for education acts as key contrasts.

Labor leaders urged to register voters for 1970 Ohio wins

Martin Graham urged union members to register their families to vote and build on 1948 1958 victories. He touted Gilligan's 1968 win as a step toward 1970 Democratic goals with a push for a Democratic senator governor and state legislature. James Griffin introduced Gilligan at the rally saying Ohio can replace a wolf in sheep's clothing in the Senate.
