Kroger co operates a union backed JOBS program to train 333 hard core unemployed in Ohio Michigan and Kentucky. Trainees will work as material handler clerk meat apprentice meat wrapper night clerk stock and sales clerk meat plant sanitor processed foods sanitor meat fabricator and car gangman. Cities include Cincinnati Cleveland Columbus Dayton Toledo Detroit and Louisville with wages after training around 2.81 dollars an hour and government cost about 1208 dollars per trainee. Training by Clopay Corporation and union support by Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butchers Teamsters and Pulp Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers Union.
