Murder and arson shock Upper Ninth Street cottage
At six this morning an alarm revealed a triple crime in a two story cottage. Mrs Katherine Reutter lay dead on a bed with a crushed neck and a knife wound, the house then set on fire. The husband, believed perpetrator, cut his own throat and lies dying. The couple, about fifty, were recently married after a divorce filed by Mrs Reutter last fall amid allegations of brutality and neglect. Reutter had come from Cincinnati as a mason and stayed with Mrs Reutter this week. He remains alive but unlikely to survive.
