In Beresford, Va a breach of warranty case arises from the March 2 1869 sale of a horse for $400 that proved lame. Plaintiff tendered the horse back after discovery, defendant refused refund, trial court to decide if warranty breached and damages valid. New cases listed include Britties v administrator and several pleas and appeals.
At the Olive Branch Temple of Honor No 30 last meeting the officers for the ensuing term were elected and sworn. A case of carrying concealed weapons was dismissed for lack of witnesses. A citizen of Cam county, Leane Yelton, was nearly choked at the Beer Hotel but saved after a rescue effort.
A fragmentary report from Covington notes a small boy, son of J. C. Thomas, living at Greenup Street corner, was badly burned after a street fire damaged his home. No further details are legible.
