Gaschen Reservoir in Spuixcheip Mass Disintegrates

The Gaschen Reservoir, covering 14 acres with an average depth of 30 feet, supplied mills on Mill River at Williamaberg Haydenville and Florence during dry times. Constructed about twelve years ago by local capitalists, it has faced repeated fears of disaster. This year the reservoir was repaired at heavy expense and was thought safe, though signs of leakage persisted.

River levels and weather ease as cargo moves upriver

A Special Dispatch notes river fall with 8 feet in the canal and 6 feet 3 inches of the falls. Cloudy windy weather and a 56 degree mercury reading. Special Dispatch reports Lucea in Mignon to-night drawing crowds from nearby towns. A Maennerchor serenade at the Neil House delighted guests as Baron Walhoffen thanked attendees and excused his wife for fatigue. The Railréed Omnibus Company debuted the first of twelve new vehicles by Bruce & Co. described as a coupe style omnibus with four seats per side and front and back coachlike seating.
