Preparations for the Catholic Church pilgrimage to Rome are complete and the travelers will depart the city aboard the steamship Pereire this coming Saturday.
The president will reveal his ruling on the Arkansas imbroglio late this afternoon, with indications pointing to Baxter in the dispute. Reports say additional troops may be sent to Little Rock as the situation develops and coherence of command remains uncertain.

An evening incident near Mr Samuel Walker’s store at 50 West Fourth Street leads to a report of a man named C Kane found dead in the canal along East Street. McKeon and a merchant on Main Street aided as the body was recovered. The victim, sixty-one, connected to J B Brammer & Co., left behind sisters on Fourth Street and had a temperate habit. The coroner’s verdict cites death from drowning.
Wasuixcrox May 9 reports a conference among 7 Letssling and Baxter with Secede parties at the Bureau of Justice and a later meeting with the General at Gelormeann.
