Ged Downing chaired a meeting urging all colored communities to hold memorial services and march to the late Senator Sumner's funeral. A public gathering was planned Friday to arrange participation in obsequies. Massachusetts adjournment followed the flag salute as city leaders debated tribute.
Special Dispatch reports Hesrixeron March 12 that the Paymaster of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway has paid two days of wage arrears to laborers and mechanics at the shops. Freight movement resumed with no further interruptions as steamers and freight trains operate normally.

Michael Fay was sentenced in the Police Court this morning to the Work-House five months for stealing from Jacob Smith. The case of Charles McCabe for stealing two chandeliers was continued. August Morneth, a saloon keeper, for Charney Wolfer on Central avenue, near Esty reel, was dismissed. Job Logust and Wm Townsend were fined 95 dollars each for assaulting Andrew Lewis. Policeman Rehm was dismissed after being charged with assaulting two boys. Jos Fleury and Hannah Woodfull were sent to the Work-House 30 days for drunkenness. Maggie Covven fined 25 dollars and 30 days Work House for disorderly conduct. Jane McGrathy fined 5 dollars and 30 days.
The Constitutional Convention reassembled at clock with President King presiding. Mr. Dorsey of Mimi finished a debate on the Committee on Revenue and Taxation. no vote by closing hour. A post office was established and Robert G. White appointed Postmaster at North Bene. The village shows improvement and Walnut Hills Social Club meets Friday at Mr. W. Dickinson Park. Miss Teasdale’s care is noted.
