Adams as canal supervisor, Phil J. Schott as assistant, and Sam. E. Galmer as tolls collector with H. W. Adams. The Charles Hodmann led the first boat under the reduced tolls after midnight, and a Cincinnati party including J. Covington, B. Eggleston, J. Kyle, and J. Pepper toured via the towboat Walker Norris. Freight includes corn and miscellaneous goods. Cherokee freight is expected Saturday amid a rising river and a recent heavy storm.

About 3 o'clock this morning the works of William Frank & Son at One Town Station on the Pittsburg and Connellsville Railroad were completely destroyed by fire, suspected incendiary. The loss is about $60,000. Teo Crolla dining rooms also burned. Messrs Freak & Son may lose around $55,000. they are insured abroad for $37,800.
The Adjutant General Amos received a dispatch from Gore directing immediate readiness of the Lytle G company at Cincinnati to proceed to Nalesatile at a moment's notice. The call was issued at 3 PM.
