Crew, electricians, townsmen, and visitors helped haul the drag rope and splice the line, with communication established to the vessel about three quarters of a mile offshore. The Ambassador plans to lay from Rye Beach to the shoals by noon and sailed past tonight with the Faraday. A salute, rockets, and fireworks marked the event, and many ladies and gentlemen observed from the steamer and shore.
