The specie shipment total reached 533357 dollars with 500000 dollars in gold coin. The Assistant Treasurer opened bids from a million in gold. The overall bid amount stood at 2875000 dollars. Bids ranged from a low 115.62 to a high 116.00.
A blaze swept the extensive douring mills of Leonhardt and Schuritch at 310 Lom street in St Louis around 2 o clock. The mills, machinery, and stock were destroyed with losses reported near ten thousand dollars. Fire officials are investigating the cause and extent of damage.

Three men named J. F. O'Donnell, John King, and Johan Lewis were arrested and jailed at Third Street Station on a highway robbery charge. They allegedly robbed Reuben C. of $30 early this morning. The case is scheduled before Judge Lindemann tomorrow.

The Robinson Light Infantry held a meeting in Robinsons Opera House and swore in 38 men as State guards. With growing interest, organizers expect about 60 at the next session. Enrollment papers are at 136 Vine Street. A letter from the Lieutenant was read and Uncle John Robinson was honored as treasurer of the group.
About 35 descendants of Lawrence and Miss Tewnstey gathered at Walnut Street House to discuss recovering a vast English estate valued around 200 million. The Eastern branch seeks a long-Running chancery suit. Carver represents them and plans a trip to England to press the bill. Dr. Shepperd was elected president and S. W. General Thomas J Brady of Muncie Indiana is appointed Supervisor of Internal Revenue for Ohio and Indians. A veteran of the Civil War, Brady rose from a dawn-to-war start as a drummer boy to captain and then brevet brigadier general. He later served as consul to St Thomas and chaired Indiana’s Republican Central Committee before this government role. He is expected to arrive in the city today.
Judge Cox presided as the State called Frank W. Wilson on trial for manslaughter in the killing of W. L. Burgoyne. The confrontation arose during a card game when Burgoyne allegedly struck the defendant with his hand to Burgoyne’s head, leading to the fatal injuries observed.
