From Public Offices records the year 1887 balance at January 1 was 357.61 and receipts totaled 2 794 051 94. Divorces granted numbered ninety seven in Common Pleas Court. Probate court petitions included over one action by executors guardians and administrators with twenty five adoptions and 148 wills admitted to probate. Mortuary totals note about 160 men and 7 wagons and seven carts used in city cleanup and disposal.
A partition in an unfinished wall at Flickinger & Co. near en ile collapsed on Monday, killing three boys whose ages ranged from five to fifteen.
