From the Missouri Democrat correspondent in Salem April 1 a drunken mob destroyed the True Flag office and damaged nearby homes. Ladies of Salem faced mobs as windows were stove in and stones wounded a child in a trundle bed while a nighttime procession was assaulted.
Kansas notes report crowds of migrants arriving at Lawrence armed with Sharpe rifles to defend themselves from Drunken Davys hosts. Branson rescuers trial postponed to May first Monday with penalties of one year hard labor and 500 dollars fine. Congressional investigators Oliver and colleagues arrive to probe records, while Oliver’s Washington vote displeases Kansas delegates. Gov Robinson returns from Boston after nine days and joins Lecompton inquiry efforts amid public reception in Lawrence.
