Louisville April 24 9 The capture of James Wilkinson charged with a $15 000 embezzlement in New Orleans and elsewhere proved important. He received a jail dispatch from J B Phelps Indianapolis to arrive on the 1 AM train and go to the jail. Phelps claimed he sought release for a prisoner and detectives searched Wilkinson and found 8600 in his stocking. Phelps denied involvement as he was locked up and writs of habere corpus issued for Wilkinson.
Prices for wheat rye and flour are listed with light demand and multiple bids. Wheat and flour show lower cash values while May and June futures trade near steady levels. Meat and pork markets remain quiet with subdued receipts and bid prices.
