Ambush and Deer Capture Amid Falls and Night Watch
In the Falls area near Whitehall the party sets ambushes for incoming raiders as Lord Howe's division advances along a five mile line. Darkee signals alert with five whistle notes while Durkee and companions wait at the mouth of South Bay. A deer is shot for venison as the night wind hushes the lake and the alert is kept until dawn.
