Murder Trial Reveals 1873 Hanover Altercation
In Madison, inc. May 5 the circuit court hears evidence in the Saresset murder case. On August 1, 1873 James Ferguson and John Stillhammer quarreled at a colored celebration near Hanover. Ferguson fired twice, then shot Stillhammer as he raised his hands. Stillhammer died moments later.
