Six Men Held on Freight Car Theft Charge

Six men named Daniel, Michael McGynn, Wm. Howard, Henry Adams, David Jones, and Wm. Harper were arrested for stealing freight from cars near Hamton. The gang opened side doors on side tracks, removed goods, and resealed the doors before fleeing. In Police Court each defendant was held on $3,000 bail for appearance on the 30th.

New Hospital for Colored Insane at Carthage

The Carthage Water Care estate has been bought to convert into a hospital for the colored insane. The three acre property includes a building bought for 11,000 dollars years ago and a lot of 12,000 dollars, possession to July 1. The site, adjoining Longview, will gain gas water and other utilities for immediate use.
