Statements of Key Reed and grove on the Massacre victims

The document lists wounded Key, Reed, and grove and recounts Mrs Head's account of finding a man laying in timber ten miles from the massacre site. Names of Hamilton party members are given including Charles A Alvin and Doctor Hamilton, residents of Fort Scott, and others from Missouri Iowa Virginia and Kentucky. Indian War in Minnesota Report From Sioux Agency

The Jeanette Roberta, Capt Thimens, arrived from Red Wood Sioux Agency reporting large Sioux encampments near Shakopee. An engagement with Chippewas was expected. Chippewas were about 480 strong under Hole in-the-day, with fourteen Sioux scalps and eight more claimed, while Shakopee camp remained strongly fortified and quiet since.
