Cincinnati Custom House Post Office and Court House Construction
The 1841 Cincinnati post office moved locations before a new Custom-house Post Office and Court House was designed. The planned building on Fifth to Main streets will cost nearly 3 million dollars, span 354 by 164 feet, rise four stories with a large skylight, and include a hollow square court. It will house the Post Office, United States courts, Internal Revenue, and other offices with fifty rooms and a central business hall.
