City Council Passes Ordinance for Annual Charter Election
At a special meeting the City Council approved an ordinance for the annual charter election. Officers to be chosen include a council member from each ward, school board members from the Second, Third and Fourth wards, assessors in the First, Third and Fifth wards, plus the school board president and the wharfmaster. An earlier report on York and Bellevue misstated events. Mr. Williams only tried to separate Hallam and Spence. Spence was fined 20 dollars for breach of peace and bail set at 3200 for an assault with intent to kill hearing. Noone was held for criminal court trial.
