Isaac March and Thos Bruce appeared in the Polita Court yesterday morning charged with sneaking into 435 West Sixth Street, Avery's residence, and stealing silver ware. Evidence proved them guilty. they were fined 1450 and costs, then sent to County Jail for 30 days. The stolen items were recovered from a pawn shop where the thieves left the ware.
Yesterday's court list shows John Haufbauer charged with threatening, continued to the 26th. Chas McCrea for burglary continued to the 19th. Joseph Thomas for horse stealing continued to unnamed date. James Mike and Eugene Lameonde for grand larceny continued to the same day. 8 Thomas for assault and battery dismissed. Weank Shiner, B Cullum and Jas Miller for petit larceny continued to the 13th. Chas Maginley for disorderly conduct forfeiting bail of 10 dollars. Ed Moses for gambling continued to the 15th. Tenac March and Thos Bruce for petit larceny each fined 160 dollars and costs and sent to County Jail for thirty days. Chas Smith for assault and battery fined 10 dollars and costs. Mary Kinsick for drinking, fined 50 dollars and costs and sent to City Prison for thirty days.

Mrs Fleishauer wife of boarding house proprietor Benjamin Fleishauer reports a robbery at about 4 PM Monday. Bonds totaling 1000 and cash 100 were stolen from a bag worn at the waist near DelLands store on Fourth street after a crowd formed to see Commodore Foote. No clue yet to the thief.
Friends and acquaintances recount the death of Milton P. McQuillan from typhoid fever at his Walnut Hill residence. A Columbia Tennessee native, he moved to the city a decade ago and worked in publishing before joining the Daily Enquirer as a local news writer and later serving honorably in the Quartermasters Department.
In Superior Court Judge Fox hears E. S. Penny and Charles McGarigle v Hugh Keaton over a verbal May 1866 contract to supply strawberries from Chicago to Cincinnati. Lawrance Myers & Co. sues Galleher and Pevrie to recover value of a cask Pale Cognac sold in January 1864.
