Local Woman Fatally Struck By Locomotive Near East Ward

About half past eight yesterday evening the motive Kilgour backing out of the city Lille Railroad struck and fatally injured Mrs Elizabeth Phillips of 1076 East Seventeenth Ward as she returned home. She was knocked down and her right leg severed at the hip. Taken to her residence for care none available surgeons arrived and she died at noon. An inquest was held and the jury returned a verdict of death from accidental injuries caused by being run over by a locomotive on the Miami Railroad near Seventeenth Street.

Coroner’s Inquest Probes Poison Death of Young Boyle Child

Continuation of the Coroner and jury inquiry into the poisoning death of the youngest Boyle child. Medical students Corbin and Perry testified about symptoms and possible poisoning claims against Boyle. Boyle’s sister and others recalled events including water pitcher observations. Investigation to continue today.

Army of the Cumberland veterans pay tribute in Cincinnati

Docket of Police Court Closes In Judge Straub Session

Thirty one cases heard yesterday by Judge Straub with dispositions. Names include Geo Wise petit larceny to the 12th Geo Rapp assault and battery to the 6th A Meyer abusing family to the 10th Augustus Corry Albert Parker burglary to the 7th Jos Dilges same day grand larceny to the 4th and other petty offenses with fines costs and jail terms. Augustus Cary Edward Parish burglary case adjourned bail set at 2000.
