Mrs Carr’s testimony limited.

Catharine C Porter sued J H Porter for drunkenness and cruelty with a son testifying he was driven out barefoot at night. A decree was granted. Martha Steele sued Joseph Steele for gross neglect of duty and received a decree. Morris vs Martin Morris resulted in a decree for extreme cruelty with Caldwell for the plaintiff.
Christine McKee sued Andrew McKee for divorce noting marriage in fall 1866 in this city. The defendant was a minstrel performer who moved to New Srigete with the wife, leaving her to live with her mother and support herself. A decree was granted with Bird and ? for plaintiff.
Almira E. Rothermel sues Harry A. Rothermel for divorce on adultery grounds. Married December 24, 1869 in Clermont County. A witness testified Rothermel visited a Plum Street house of ill fame with Mollie Williams. Court grants decree to plaintiff, custody of the child Neall. February grand jurors sworn, Judge Cox cautions jurors to act without malice and fear, to indict only on solid proof.
Judge Force presides as Frazer sues public officers in individual capacity for damages to property from a new road near Burnet avenue. Trustees of Mt Auburn Walnut Hills Clintonville Road District are named as individuals, arguing they acted beyond authority. Defendants deny illegal work and plaintiff’s damages. trial not concluded.
The Dayton and Covington areas report a range of civic notes. The Bible Society of Covington celebrated its 27th anniversary with a Sunday service at the Christian Church and elected new officers. Newport tides, church charters, and local council election plans are noted alongside Dayton debt debates and bond proposals.
