Seven months in southern prisons reveal horrors at Atlanta Bull Peas Castle Thunder and Salisbury Penitentiary. Schematics of starvation and the poor quality and quantity of prison rations exposed by a special correspondent detailing harsh conditions and inmates’ ordeals.

A Texan source claims Kirby profits from cotton transport to Matamoros via agents who pay him and hide his name. A Yankee agent schemes fail when Kirby’s disguise and a widow’s denial expose the fraud.
The document details the PHENIX FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY of Brooklyn New York with cash capital and surplus 923,989 74, assets including cash real estate unincumbered bonds and stocks debts due the company and other securities. It lists liabilities losses unadjusted and in suspense and states the company holds at least one hundred thousand dollars in actual cash capital invested in stocks bonds or mortgages. Stephen Crowell president and Philander Shay secretary certify the statement sworn January 23 1965 before THUS L THORNELL commissioner for Ohio in New York.
