In 1576 George E. Schooley, a money clerk at Adams Express in Nashville, absconded with $10,000 sent by First National Bank to Washington. He fled after claiming to visit his ailing wife, vanished, and was later identified in Canada by a photograph. Detectives pursued him as the case unfolded.

A Clarke County farmer from Dialton writes that after treatment by Dr Aborn his long standing deafness in the left ear nearly vanished and he could hear a watch at a distance. He had been almost totally deaf in the left ear since childhood and partially deaf in the right for five years.
