The Western Bureau reports reduced freight rates by railway commissioners after the Baltimore and Ohio declined to join the combination. Yesterday New York to Europe saw 738000 dollars mainly gold coin. The steamship August Andre grounded at Romer Shoals near New York Sunday and threw overboard fifty tons of sugar to lighten. The Louisiana Returning Board met in executive session to consider protested parishes after a Conservative protest. Workman Granted New Trial In Methodist Case

In Curiaco Illinois on December 16 the Methodist Judicial Conference granted Rev. T J Workman a new trial after his expulsion from the Rock River Conference for immorality.
