Physician Held on Arson Charge in Ohio Incident
Dr A D Spence a prominent physician in South Lebanon Ohio was arrested on arson charges after a fire partially destroyed his residence. State Fire Marshal Ambrose investigated and a preliminary hearing is set for Friday. Neighbors found the house bolted and doors forced, with beds soaked in oil and walls holes filled with coal oil soaked excelsior. Spence was found asleep in his buggy in the barn yard and claimed innocence reporting he had just visited a patient at Blanchester. The house and furniture were insured at 500 and 1000 respectively.
