In dense fog near the Highland Park bridge over the Des Moines River, a Perry interurban car collided head on with a Highland Park street car. Conductor William L. Keiser of Des Moines was killed instantly, Motorman Peter McCourty lost both legs and later died at a hospital, while about a score of passengers were seriously injured all residents of Highland Park.
