Negotiations open between officials of two corporations as the tide turns for Teutons near the Black Sea. A new electric company station may supply juice, signaling a shift in traction plant status.
Cincinnati Union Gas and Electric advances a $4 million riverbank plant near Mill Street, planned as the world’s largest generating station. Negotiations begin to abandon Cincinnati Traction Company stations as the new plant would supply electric light and motive power to Cincinnati and surrounding cities within a 100 mile radius in Ohio Indiana and Kentucky.
The University completes the Chemical Laboratory Building at a cost of 211000 and will occupy it next Monday. Police say he made counterfeit dimes and quarters from plaster paris molds taken from good money. Azbill held in county jail pending federal warrant in Cincinnati.
Aviator Harry N. Atwood of Boston now in Williamsport Pa announced he is through with the professional flying game and will never soar again except for pleasure. He rose to prominence about ten years ago by flying from St Louis to Boston.
A Scarlet Oaks Sanitarium report says County Commissioner Sam Weil is holding his own with hope for recovery after a month of paralysis and a second stroke. He is able to walk in his room but visitors are restricted to immediate family. Weil, a longtime Republican leader in business and local government, previously served two terms as county commissioner.
The War Department pursues stronger pistol and rifle skills among males of military age. Amended rules for the national matches at Jacksonville begin October 11. For the first time civilians may enter alongside National Guard teams. Government provides free transport to one civilian team of six shooters from each state.
