Rochielter Minn Sept 21. Governor Johnson dies after a long illness in St Peter. Dr Mayo said no hope remained as Johnson fought a racking cough and lapsed into unconsciousness for an hour. Born July 28 1861 in St Peter he rose from drugstore clerk to editor and politician serving as state senator then governor elected 1904 and re elected 1906 and 1908. He was a Democrat and Presbyterian.
